Description

The youngest cousin of the great King Theosus of Western KoninKrik, and the son of his cousin Lady Beatrice, Lord Darren Valdimir of House Valdimir is the General of the armed forces defending Orcinaden and a Colonel in Theosus' army. Unlike many officers of rank, who are ornately adorned in the garb befitting their rank, Darren prefers the armor he has had since his volunteering; that of a foot soldier. He has seen and fought in many battles, often alongside dwarves, elves and dragons. He has been in the very thickest of the fighting, and taken on missions nearly impossible for someone without magic. But more than that, he has escaped death so many times that many cannot explain how his luck holds out. His armor may be dented and chipped in many places, he may have scars, but it doesn't stop him from having a normal life. Indeed Darren is married to a young woman named Leanne that he rescued from a Dark Corps attack more than a decade ago, and he has three wonderful (rather rambunctious) daughters. His opinion on magic is neutral, but he is not overly fond of dragon riders. He holds a lot of respect for them, but believes that they are a bit incautious, if arrogant at times. But for all his dislike, he rather have dragon riders at his side than as his enemies any day.

Originally just meant to show the variability of the human soldiers of Kairegorn in terms of their armor, Darren became a character in the late hours of the night and proved to be quite fun to draw. Also, i should not that this particular type of armor he wears is worn by all of the soldiers of Orcinaden. The pose I used as reference was courtesy of RikuGloomy ( rikugloomy.deviantart.com ) and I give special thanks to him for the inspiration.
