Distinguishing features: The largest tyrannosaur, the largest coelurosaur, and one of the largest land predators of all time; Vastatotyrannus (also known as the V. rex) is truly the king of the dinosaurs, directly descended from Tyrannosaurus rex itself. This massive predator is dark green with a yellow underbelly, huge red head crests and wattles, and an armor plated back covered in scutes and osteoderms, which aid the young in defense against larger predators and then against rival predators and aggressive prey in adults. In spring, the males change color from green to black with white markings on their heads and backs, making them eerily skeletal looking for a period of two months. Long spines, which it uses to signal others of its own kind, run from its neck to its tail. Its head, which is 10 feet long, houses 5-foot long saber tusks. Their jaws can open 170° so that their bite results in making massive wounds that smash in bones. Males are about 10 feet longer than females and weigh about 15 tons compared to the females’ 9 tons. They can run at 25 miles an hour over short distances, and are fiercely territorial and vicious. Fights between adults can last for hours and can result in death for one or both. Males and females pair for life, laying clutches of between 10 and 20 eggs, about which half of hatch. This low reproductive rate is tied to their higher intelligence, which makes the animals more vulnerable to local extinction. The young look just like their parents except for the fact that they are smaller and have feathers, and narrower snouts. Vastatotyrannus have a symbiotic relationship with Gorgoraptors, Tyrannoraptors, and Crunchers, using them as protection for their young. In return, they let these smaller carnivores nest alongside them and give them a portion of their kills. The young stay with their parents until they are about 10 years old. Only about a quarter of the juveniles make it to that age and only half of that to live to adulthood. Vastatotyrannus can live for a 120 years maximum and have the title of the 3rd most intelligent dinosaur on earth.

Habits and Habitat: This versatile predator can be found in almost any habitat from jungles to the sub-arctic tundra and it can and will eat anything it wants. This is also one of only two predators, along with Tyrannoraptors that can take down a fully-grown Mongo Grongo. With all its prey it attacks from different angles and uses its massive saber tusks to inflict tremendous damage. The tusks are hard to break thanks to their crystallized structure. This animal is also very agile for a dinosaur its size. It can maneuver quite quickly thanks to its flexible tail and shortened rib cage. These animals fear nothing and will not hesitate to eat any smaller predators that wander into their territory; even if it is young of rival Vastatotyrannus (they will not eat their progenies as they can detect bloodlines through scent). This gives them the distinction of being the most dangerous carnivore on land. Nothing is safe from this goliath.

The ultimate tyrannosaur, this beast was inspired by Vastatosaurus rex, Tyrannosaurus rex, Osmatar's Black beast and imperial Saber-tyrant,and Carnotaurus. I wanted to make a realistic predator with saber tusks that could be used to pierce armor and bone. feel free to make your own versions of him as you see fit, but please ask my permission first.
