Great Welsh Red Dragon

The Great Welsh Red Dragon is one of the most famous and powerful of the 9 species of Great Dragon. critically Endangered in the Wild, Fewer than 200 adults range from Britain to the Faroe Islands in the North Sea, though this number is improving dramatically. Sexually dimorphic like all Great Dragons, Males sport horns, bright colors and elaborate frill crests while females do not. though they may look out of place, the red coloring of the dragon blends in well with the red autumn leaves in its native habitat. The Red Dragon was Arthur Pendragon's Standard during the time of Camelot and his mentor, Merlin, witnessed a battle between a Welsh Red and and Icelandic white dragon during his youth; the red killed the white, and the mortally wounded victor was put out of its misery by King Lludd.
Today, the red dragons still soar proudly high above the seas, hunting whales, fish and dolphins and occasionally coming into contact with the white, blue, and green dragons of Iceland, Scandinavia, and America, respectively.
